Crisp, apple nose. Delicate malt body with a faint mushroom and pine character. Dry finish.

Allagash Musette Scotch Ale

Smells like booze. Thick mouthfeel with apple and plum notes backed with a lot of smoke.

Grand Teton Brewing Stranahan's Colorado Aged Black Cauldron

Looks/smells/tastes like black strap molasses, treacle, and other such synonyms.

Uncommon Brewing Bacon Brown Ale

Smells a bit flat, but there's a superthick mouthfeel and a mapley malt load. A tiny bit of bittering hops. Actually pretty good, despite not tasting like bacon.

Sudwerk Marzen

Nice malt load, good generic marzen.

Jolly Pumpkin Bam Noire

Musty farmhouse scent, and a dirty, mushroomy body. Jolly Pumpkin just might be salvaging their rep in my drunken eyes. Great saison!

Candy sour apple, sugar, cinnamon and banana. Drink it any time you see it.

Haand Bryggeriet Wild Thing

Sour cherries in the nose, body of roasted malt and sour plums, and a lingering sour note. Strong in all the right ways.

Triple Rock Sour Stone

Smells like fruit cake... rum and candy. the body is a lot drier and more acidic than expected, lots of dark fruit and sour notes. Dry finish.
